Yes. MEDCANN Pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), the independent regulator for pharmacies in Great Britain. Our GPhC Premises Registration number is 9013239. Our superintendent pharmacist is Jay Vekaria (Reg: 2083802). We are fully compliant with all UK pharmaceutical regulations.
Your prescribing clinician can send your prescription directly to us electronically, or you can post the original to: MEDCANN, PO Box 78260, London, NW2 9UY. You can also email a copy to rx@medcannpharmacy.co.uk — however, we require the original prescription before dispensing your medication.
Our pharmacy team checks and processes the prescription before dispensing the prescribed medicine. The prescribing clinician remains responsible for your clinical assessment and treatment plan, while MEDCANN provides the pharmacy dispensing service.
Yes. Since November 2018, specialist doctors in the UK have been able to prescribe CBPMs. They can only be prescribed by a specialist clinician — not a GP — and only when other treatments have been tried and have not worked. MEDCANN Pharmacy is a GPhC-registered pharmacy authorised to dispense these prescribed medicines.
You may be eligible if you have a diagnosed condition that has not responded adequately to conventional treatments. Common eligible conditions include chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD, sleeping disorders, MS, epilepsy, and cancer-related symptoms. Register as a patient and a specialist clinician will assess your eligibility during a consultation.
Costs vary depending on the prescribed product, dosage, and quantity. At MEDCANN Pharmacy, the initial consultation is £200 and follow-up appointments are £95 per quarter. Monthly medication costs typically range from £100–£600 depending on your prescription. We are always transparent about pricing before you commit.
This is a complex area. If your prescribed medicine contains THC, you should discuss driving with your prescribing clinician and follow their advice. Always carry your prescription documentation when appropriate and do not drive if you are impaired.
No. Changes to your medication, dose or treatment plan must be discussed with the prescribing clinician. We can help with dispensing queries and will work with the prescriber where appropriate.
NHS prescriptions for CBPMs are extremely rare and currently restricted to a small number of specific conditions. For most patients, access is through the private healthcare route. MEDCANN Pharmacy works with specialist private clinicians to make this process as straightforward as possible.
Once your prescription is verified and payment confirmed, we arrange fast, discreet, and secure delivery anywhere in the UK. All packages are plain and unmarked to protect your privacy. Delivery times and options will be confirmed at the point of order.
