Yes. Since November 2018, specialist doctors in the UK have been able to prescribe cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs). They can only be prescribed by a specialist clinician — not a GP — and only when other treatments have been tried and have not worked. MEDCANN Pharmacy is a GPhC-registered pharmacy fully authorised to dispense these products.
You may be eligible if you have a diagnosed condition that has not responded adequately to conventional treatments. Common eligible conditions include chronic pain, anxiety, PTSD, sleeping disorders, MS, epilepsy, and cancer-related symptoms. Register as a patient and one of our specialist clinicians will assess your eligibility during a consultation.
NHS prescriptions for medical cannabis are extremely rare and currently restricted to a very small number of specific conditions. For most patients, access is through the private healthcare route. MEDCANN Pharmacy works with specialist private clinicians to make this process as straightforward and affordable as possible.
Costs vary depending on the product, dosage, and quantity prescribed. At MEDCANN Pharmacy, the initial consultation is £200 and follow-up appointments are £95 per quarter. Monthly medication costs typically range from £100–£600 depending on your prescription. We are always transparent about pricing before you commit.
Your prescribing clinician can send your prescription directly to us electronically, or you can post the original to: MEDCANN, PO Box 78260, London, NW2 9UY. You can also email a copy to [email protected] — however, we require the original prescription before dispensing your medication.
This is a complex area. In the UK, it is illegal to drive with THC in your blood above the legal limit, even with a valid prescription. CBD-only products do not contain THC and are not subject to the same restrictions. We strongly recommend discussing this with your prescribing clinician and always carrying your prescription documentation when driving.
Once your prescription is verified and payment confirmed, we arrange fast, discreet, and secure delivery anywhere in the UK. All packages are plain and unmarked to protect your privacy. Delivery times and options will be confirmed at the point of order.
